Blasting Practices in Surface Mines & Quarries/Surface Excavations

This 3 day course provides the core knowledge component for the balance of the unit standards in the Rockbreaking Qualification that are not covered by the Skills Programmes Examine & Make Safe and Blast Assistant (Steps 1 and 2 in the Rockbreaking Qualification). 

Following the completion of this short course, the learner will be required to:

• Complete a Log Book (provided by Xtract Training Services);
• Work a required number of shifts under suitable supervision/mentoring:
• Obtain a First Aid Certificate;
• Have the required Fundamentals in place;
• Be assessed fully competent on-the-job.

The NEXT COURSE will be held  29 June – 6 1 July 2026 at Xtract Offices, 64 Boundary Road, Apple Orchards, Walkerville, Gauteng.
